The International Architecture Awards (IAA) are organized by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design, and Urban Studies. This prestigious and long-standing global award recognizes new innovations and promotes global architecture and design.

First launched in 2005, the IAA awards celebrate outstanding and impressive architectural achievements. Over time, it has become a benchmark for architectural excellence, admired by architects and designers around the world.

This year, over 850 notable works from various projects across multiple countries were submitted for different categories. The judging panel selected more than 190 of the best projects globally, spanning 26 categories. Among them, Dat Phuong Group's Clubhouse Casamia was honored with the 2024 International Architecture Award in the public space category.

Located at the heart of the Casamia urban area in Hoi An, Quang Nam, the Clubhouse, designed by renowned architect Võ Trọng Nghĩa and his team, stands as a remarkable destination featuring distinguished architecture and premium amenities. These have been thoughtfully invested in by Đạt Phương Group with great care and dedication.

The Clubhouse uses bamboo, a familiar and readily available material in Vietnam, to emphasize the local landscape. Its bamboo structural frame, inspired by biomimicry, vividly captures the form and structure of coconut trees. Standing nearly 9 meters tall, Clubhouse Casamia is a pure bamboo construction, featuring 22 arch frames and a grid of columns, braced together by a unique joint system. The building has withstood several large storms in Hoi An, thanks to its innovative structural system composed of stacked, bound, and pinned bamboo joints.

Additionally, the use of intricately woven thatched roofing provides an effective insulation material, reducing energy consumption. The building’s prime location at the end of canals near the Cổ Cò River allows the arched bamboo roof to channel natural breezes from the water, aiding in natural ventilation and minimizing the need for electricity. Despite being surrounded by abundant greenery, the Clubhouse still receives ample natural sunlight.

Set in the heart of the Casamia urban area, the Clubhouse is likened to a green island, enveloped by canals and natural water coconut forests, adjacent to a world biosphere reserve. The building’s rustic yet sophisticated architectural space is highlighted by the high, layered bamboo roofs, elegantly arched over the serene riverside setting.

To meet the demand for a destination that combines unique architectural artistry with a natural green environment and an exceptional service experience, the Clubhouse was developed into the Bamboo Lounge Restaurant, offering exquisite cuisine. After more than two years of operation, Bamboo Lounge Restaurant has become a popular destination for both domestic and international tourists seeking a memorable culinary experience.
