A Heritage Architectural Masterpiece and the “Nha – An” Philosophy

Located along the Co Co River, between the ancient town of Hoi An and the buffer zone of the Cu Lao Cham – Hoi An World Biosphere Reserve, NHAAN Resort & Spa was designed by renowned architect Vo Trong Nghia, drawing inspiration from Hoi An’s distinctive architectural heritage, as well as the surrounding nature and local landscape.

The name “NHAAN” combines “Nha” (home) and “An” (peace), conveying the meaning of “a home in Hoi An.” It embodies the idea of a warm and welcoming destination where guests can feel a sense of familiarity and belonging, as though returning to their own home, while experiencing the authentic character of this heritage land.

The resort makes a strong impression through its figurative architectural language, with forms reminiscent of the undulating tiled roofs of Hoi An’s old town. Green spaces are incorporated across the rooftops and between building volumes, evoking the traditional gardens of the region. Raw, natural materials such as exposed concrete, granite, and sandstone are combined with native vegetation—including areca palms, coconut palms, nipa palms, and sea hibiscus—to create a harmonious whole that blends naturally into the surrounding landscape.

Distinctive traditional values from Kim Bong carpentry village, Thanh Ha pottery village, and Hoi An’s silk village are subtly woven into the spaces, design details, and guest experiences, offering visitors a hospitality journey enriched by the cultural depth and identity of the heritage destination.

With the official opening of NHAAN Resort & Spa Hoi An, the destination not only gains an additional internationally standardized hospitality offering, but the resort is also expected to become an important link in the Da Nang–Hoi An tourism ecosystem. It is positioned to enhance the destination’s value, attract high-end international travelers, create employment opportunities, and contribute to the growth of the local economy.
