The project has a total route length of 2 km, with a scale of 4 lanes and a design speed of 100 km/h. It passes through three communes — Nghia Chau, Nghia Trung and Nghia Thai — in Nghia Hung district, Nam Dinh province, and two communes — Khanh Cuong and Khanh Trung — in Yen Khanh district, Ninh Binh province. The Day River Overpass is located at Km18+116 on the Ninh Binh - Nam Dinh - Thai Binh - Hai Phong expressway, consisting of 29 spans. The main bridge includes 3 continuous spans of prestressed reinforced concrete box girders constructed using balanced cantilever methods. The approach bridge crossing the right embankment of the Day River on the Ninh Binh side comprises 3 continuous spans of prestressed reinforced concrete box girders, while the remaining approach spans use prestressed reinforced concrete Super T girders.
