On March 20, 2025, at Cua Dai Beach, Hoi An City, the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Hoi An Coastal Erosion Prevention and Sustainable Protection Project was officially held, marking a significant milestone in the efforts to safeguard the environment and promote sustainable development in this coastal heritage region.

As the main construction contractor, Dat Phuong Group is committed to executing the project with quality, safety, and on schedule, contributing to the restoration and regeneration of Cua Dai Beach—one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam.

Cua Dai, with its 7.5 km of picturesque coastline, is not only a popular destination for tourists visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hoi An but also a vital economic resource, especially for the tourism sector. However, in recent years, Cua Dai Beach has been severely affected by coastal erosion due to natural factors. The erosion and inland encroachment have caused significant changes to the area's terrain and geomorphology, directly threatening infrastructure, property, and the lives of local residents.

The Hoi An Coastal Erosion Prevention and Sustainable Protection Project aims to preserve and regenerate Cua Dai Beach while also improving living conditions and supporting economic development for communities in the project area. With extensive experience in executing large-scale infrastructure projects, Dat Phuong Group has been selected as the main contractor for this important initiative. With a total investment of nearly VND 1,000 billion, the project is funded by ODA from the French Development Agency (AFD), a non-refundable grant from the European Union, and the Quang Nam provincial budget. Dat Phuong Group is the contractor for both major construction packages, with a total value exceeding VND 700 billion.

The first component of the project will include construction work stretching approximately 3,393.5 meters from the river mouth (near the pier to Cham Islands) northward along the shoreline. This includes building submerged breakwaters, groynes, and sand nourishment to rebuild the beach. These measures are designed to protect the coastline from wave damage while regenerating the bathing areas and creating a sustainable ecological environment.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tan, Deputy Director of the Quang Nam Provincial Investment and Construction Management Board, stated that the project will address the severe erosion, help restore key beach areas, protect residents' property, and attract tourists back to Hoi An. This not only promotes tourism development but also ensures social welfare and enhances local resilience to climate change impacts.

Dat Phuong Group has pledged to implement the project on schedule with assured quality and efficiency, while closely coordinating with relevant authorities to maintain safety throughout the construction process. With strong commitment and high professional standards, Dat Phuong is confident in the project's success, providing long-term protection for Hoi An's coastline and contributing to the sustainable development of the region.

The Hoi An Coastal Erosion Prevention and Sustainable Protection Project is not just an infrastructure endeavor—it also reaffirms Quang Nam Province’s commitment to preserving and promoting cultural heritage values while building a safe, sustainable, and attractive tourism environment for future generations. Upon completion in 2026, the project will stand as clear evidence of the effective integration of environmental conservation, economic development, and enhanced quality of life for local communities.
