The ceremony was attended by representatives from provincial authorities, various departments and agencies, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh District, as well as officials from the project's investor and main contractor.
This event marks the start of Component Project 2, occurring one year after the initiation of Component Project 1—the Coastal Road. Both projects are integral parts of the coastal and Nhat Le 3 Bridge Project in Quang Binh Province. As a key initiative driving the economic and social development of Quang Binh, both the coastal road and the Nhat Le 3 Bridge Project have received strong leadership and support from the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Provincial People's Committee. Relevant departments, agencies, and localities have actively participated in the project's implementation. The Department of Planning and Investment of Quang Binh Province, as the investor of Component Project 2, has made significant efforts to carry out the necessary project tasks.
Component Project 2 (Nhat Le 3 Bridge and its approach roads) has a total investment of VND 1.300 billion. The project is designed to span the Nhat Le River, connecting National Highway 1A in Luong Ninh Commune (Quang Ninh District) to Nguyen Thi Dinh Road, and further to Vo Nguyen Giap Road. The project starts at the intersection with National Highway 1A in Luong Ninh Commune, Quang Ninh District and ends at the intersection with Vo Nguyen Giap Road in Bao Ninh Commune, Dong Hoi City.
The total construction length is 2.826 km, of which the bridge itself measures 561,4 m. Nhat Le 3 is an urban bridge constructed with a permanent structure made of steel and prestressed reinforced concrete, featuring an arch bridge design.
The bridge’s cross section is 23.5 m wide and the roads at both ends are designed to urban main road standards, with a design speed of 60km/h. The roadbed width ranges from 23,5m to 54,5m and accommodates 4 lanes. The road surface consists of asphalt concrete laid over a graded aggregate foundation.
This project holds strategic significance in connecting regional routes, including Component Project 1—the Coastal Road—currently being implemented by the Department of Transport.
As part of Quang Binh Province's development plan, the construction of the coastal road and Nhat Le 3 Bridge will play a crucial role in completing the transverse road network that connects the coastal road to National Highway 1A and Ho Chi Minh Road. This enhanced connectivity will improve links between urban areas, economic zones, and regions, fostering robust tourism development while strengthening national defense and security.
Additionally, this project will contribute to the gradual completion and construction of transportation infrastructure in line with the province's master plan. It will enhance the road network in Dong Hoi City and throughout Quang Binh Province. Upon completion, the Nhat Le 3 Bridge and its approach roads will serve as a striking architectural highlight, adding a unique character to the urban landscape of southern Dong Hoi City and Quang Binh Province.
