On December 24th, 2023, the My Thuan 2 Bridge project including the two bridge approaches, with a total investment exceeding 5000 billion VND was officially inaugurated. Spanning the Tien River, the My Thuan 2 Bridge connects Vinh Long and Tien Giang provinces, approximately 400 kilometers upstream from the My Thuan 1 Bridge. This project stands as Vietnam's first cable-stayed bridge entirely conceived and built by Vietnamese engineers and workers, covering the entire spectrum from project inception, design, to execution. It underscores Vietnam's command over cable-stayed bridge construction technology among its domestic contractors.
The My Thuan 2 Bridge project marks a significant milestone in transportation infrastructure, boasting five remarkable aspects:
As one of the contributing contractors, Dat Phuong participated in the construction package: the Tien Giang approach road with a total length of over 3 kilometers, including the construction of three bridges - Rach Son, An Huu, and Can bridges. During the peak phase, the management team, comprising around 70 staff members divided into 7 construction sections, expedited the progress, successfully completing the project in line with the outlined plan.
This project holds immense significance in harmonizing the expressway projects from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho and the Mekong Delta provinces. It's seen as a beacon of hope for over 20 million residents of the Mekong Delta, reducing travel time between the two cities from over 4 hours to just above 2 hours. This initiative sets the groundwork for the socio-economic development of the Mekong Delta region and the nation as a whole. Additionally, the project contributes to alleviating traffic pressure on National Highway 1.
