Hospitality Is About More Than Building a Hotel
Land, capital, construction capabilities, and project development expertise can come together to create a well-designed resort. But the true character of hospitality is shaped through operations — through every experience, every customer touchpoint, and the way a destination is remembered.
This means businesses must answer more than just the question of “what to build.” They must also address more complex questions: “How will the project be operated?”, “What experiences and services will it offer?”, and “What will make guests want to return?” It is a shift from creating a physical development to building a destination that can operate effectively, deliver meaningful experiences, and sustain its value over the long term.
With NHAAN, Dat Phuong faced precisely this challenge: transforming the project development capabilities accumulated across multiple sectors into a distinctive hospitality product, while meeting the requirements of an international operating system.
From Project Development to Destination Creation
More than two decades of experience in construction, infrastructure, energy, and real estate have given Dat Phuong a distinctive foundation as it enters a new sector. At the core of this foundation is construction expertise — the ability to execute complex projects in locations defined by unique natural conditions and landscapes.
This journey has also enabled the Group to build experience in reading the terrain, understanding natural conditions, and selecting solutions suited to each location. As Dat Phuong expanded into real estate, particularly in Hoi An, this accumulated experience found expression in the Casamia series of projects. There, the Group chose to develop its products around the inherent values of the destination, rather than separating architecture from the surrounding natural landscape and local culture.

On July 31, 2026, NHAAN Resort & Spa Hoi An, the first Tapestry Collection by Hilton property in Southeast Asia, officially opened its doors.
NHAAN builds on that foundation, but takes on a different challenge. Here, architecture becomes part of the experience, the landscape becomes part of the guest journey, and local identity is translated into services and meaningful guest touchpoints. All of this must operate within a system defined by consistent standards.
NHAAN, therefore, is more than a new project. It is where the capabilities Dat Phuong has accumulated over the years are put to the test against a new set of challenges.

Hospitality: From Building Projects to Long-Term Operations and Experience Creation
When Hoi An’s Identity Meets International Standards
In hospitality, standardization helps ensure consistent quality, but local identity is what gives a destination its distinctiveness. At NHAAN, Dat Phuong has chosen Hoi An’s authentic values as the foundation for its approach.
Rather than recreating the heritage destination through recognizable replicas, NHAAN distills its essence through architecture, landscape, materials, and experiences. Architectural forms evoke the layered rooftops of Hoi An, while materials and color palettes reflect the character of the land. Nipa palms, waterways, and native vegetation become integral elements of the resort landscape. The destination’s rich cultural heritage is also woven into the guest experience in a subtle and selective way, through traditional crafts, local cuisine, and stories from the surrounding community.
What matters is not how many Hoi An-inspired details appear throughout NHAAN, but how these elements are translated into a coherent and consistent experience. A hospitality product may be operated to international standards, but the story that defines its identity must begin with the place where it was born. For NHAAN, that story is Hoi An — a destination shaped over centuries by waterways, architecture, traditional crafts, cuisine, and a distinctive rhythm of life that has evolved through generations of history.

Hoi An: The Source of NHAAN’s Distinctive Identity
This is also where Dat Phuong’s approach to product development converges with the philosophy of Tapestry Collection by Hilton: each hotel in the collection is defined by the unique story and character of its destination. NHAAN’s inclusion in Tapestry Collection by Hilton, therefore, is more than a brand milestone. From a project development perspective, it is also a test of Dat Phuong’s ability to translate local values into a framework governed by international standards.
From a First Project to a New Capability
NHAAN marks Dat Phuong’s first step into the hospitality sector. More significant, however, is the transformation of capabilities that this journey represents. The challenge extends beyond building a resort to creating a destination that is experienced every day, through a complete and consistent guest journey.
Building on the understanding accumulated in this heritage destination, the developer must create a product capable of standing within an international system without losing the qualities that make it distinctive. This is no simple transition. Hospitality does not allow value to end at project handover. Quality must be sustained day after day by the operator; experiences must be renewed with every guest; and the destination’s identity must be authentic enough to become a lasting memory.
In this sense, NHAAN represents a distinctive “test” for Dat Phuong — not of its ability to build a resort, but of its ability to develop value into an experience that evolves over time while remaining impossible to replicate. If international standards provide the foundation for entering a new arena, Hoi An’s identity provides the destination story — and the reason NHAAN will be remembered.
